I like Olivia Rodrigo but I don’t think I’ve felt such a contrast between expectation via ecstatic reviews and actual listening experience since the National last released an album. I know it’s not for me but I wanted to like it. What are people hearing?

Bloke came round to service the boiler today and I happened to be playing Bright Eyes by Art Garfunkel, and then I realised that the same bloke had come round to service the boiler last year and I’d been playing Bright Eyes by Art Garfunkel then too

In many areas the differences between Labour and Tories/Reform aren't big enough, hence bleeding left-wing votes, but net zero remains an incredibly important dividing line and there's something in being the "let's not all burn" party. In a week like this the right-wing position seems simply insane

A bit niche, but this vid is magnificent. A guy tests the notion that particular (& very expensive) pieces of audio gear have distinct, “warm” tones. I mean, he really tests it. An unbelievable amount of effort has gone into this. Hugely watchable. His findings? 😬

I loved Sam Campbell’s Make That Movie so much. If I was a teenager and it was the 90s I would have taped every episode and quoted it incessantly. So many hidden details and throwaway jokes. And nice to watch something where it feels like the creator had editorial control.
