Watching Anthology and the quality is vastly improved. And a nice touch to add soundtracks (the first of which is streaming now). You can’t help but wonder why Anthology 4 (the album) didn’t include more from the doc. Kansas City and Some Other Guy at the Cavern being notably absent!

New Beatles info! Why Don’t we do it in the Road?, which was recorded on 9 October 1968, also makes a brief appearance on another White Album song recorded more than four months earlier. Have a listen to this isolated backing track from 20/31 May 1968: (From the fade out of Revolution 1 take 18)

Fascinating 1972 letters from John to Paul, proposing a joint performance with The Rolling Stones at the One to One gigs. And, perhaps, a show in Ireland. They’d previously met up on 29th Jan ‘72 (the day before Bloody Sunday) From the Power to the People book - thanks to @parlogram.bsky.social

I get the feeling this release is part 2 of the Anthology reboot. Designed for a new generation of intrigued fans who’ll inevitably discover The Beatles via the Anthologies, and then perhaps think, “I wonder what else they did after they split?”

Hearing John and Paul singing Two Of Us - minus instrumentation - is quite the thing. Love the “We’re going home” sections. Throughout the song John’s been singing the melody with Macca harmonising. Suddenly, just on these particular lines, they swap. youtu.be/v1dmH2BVmI8?...

Definitely the most interesting side of Anthology 4. As predicted, much of the rest has already been issued on the super delux boxes etc. Having recently spent a fortune on the mono box (and already owning cd/vinyl versions of Anthology 1-3) you know what, I’m happy to just stream this time.
