I want to be very clear here that I do indeed think assigning blame/responsibility to random Jews for what Israel does and conflating Israel and Jews generally is wrong. That's also why I think Jewish institutions and leaders should stop doing it.

It might be helpful in fact for the head of our country's most prominent antisemitism watchdog to not imply that the Jewish people are the Jewish state as we are trying to explain that attacking Jewish institutions in response to Israel's actions is wrong.
