I think my favorite think about Dispatch's voice cast is that in the case of Punch Up and Sonar, their VAs were actually cast to play characters and not just themselves. Compare Sean's performance in Dispatch compared to his role in River City Girls, it's night and day.

Yesterday my partner and I counted all the ads along Chicago's Brown Line for "Friend," a company selling an AI chatbot pendant, and tallied how many of those ads were defaced. Still working on a longer piece on this, but here's the quick and dirty: we counted 104 "Friend" ads total, 42 defaced.

Listen, I'm the number one remake hater. I hate their over saturation, I hate the people who act like games can "be replaced" by their remakes, I hate it all. HOWEVER What I'd consider "objectively" the best remake is one that isn't "better than the original" but instead builds upon it.

I don’t think the Smiling Friends joke or character was meant to be aimed at or represent trans people. But there can still be reasonable concerns about transphobia emerging from jokes about cross dressers, as people “pretending” to be male/female has often been the go-to joke at their expense.

The "Frieren angle" thing, apart from just being delightful, also completely demolishes the pathetic "AI is democratising art" argument. Someone struggling with a difficult drawing received advice from hundreds of strangers who just wanted to help them improve their art.

That literally is just a deer.
