Peter Strickland still killing it over on Letterboxd. What a treat to hear a director so particularly attentive to sound design go long on the formative experience of hearing maybe one of the most signficant, certainly one of the most fascinating, feats of cinematic sound design there has ever been.

Really outdid myself on the obscure film front tonight, with a DVD of the Polish-language MOTHER JOAN OF THE ANGELS that apparently does not offer subtitles (and I do not speak Polish). I hear there are a lot of demons in it, though, so I assume that will make up for it.

Very sad for Robert Redford’s family and friends, but scrolling through all the posts with old photos of one of the hottest men to ever grace the screen is a real consolation for the rest of us.

It's never a bad time to watch ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN (in fact, it's been a particularly good time to watch it for about ten years now) but a few years ago I saw THE HOT ROCK for the first time and that's when I really found Robert Redford, especially hot 70s Redford, *interesting.*

I think if all of your library book holds come in at the same time they should also give you a note signed by a librarian that says you have to take off work and read your books instead. Sorry, librarian's orders.
