All this brings me to my next ask: have any of y'all had any success with in-class essay writing? And would mind sharing your syllabus/plan/etc for me? I've been trying to think of how to do that and I am not trained to teach ENG101 in a history classroom. Help?

my moment this semester was showing a Tom Lehrer video. I suspected Weird Al wouldn't hit, so went modern and said he's like Bo Burnham. NOPE Bo Burnham is for old people too apparently!

I don't see this said enough: the widespread use of generative AI is not only making our jobs as educators harder logistically, but also emotionally. It is genuinely sad to be suspicious of students when you have spent so much time building a pedagogy based on trust and not being a cop. It sucks.

How can therapy be regulated as an evidence based therapeutic intervention if therapists have a First Amendment right to say anything to any client? If therapy can't be regulated as a therapeutic intervention, why would insurance pay for it any more than it pays for newspaper subscriptions?

really can't be said enough that this case was decided by the same court that decided plessy v. ferguson. if they could have found a plausible rationale to limit birthright citizenship they would have done it. but there is none! the text is as clear as constitutional language can be.

Okay, so: 1) fertilizers are in shortage; 2) E15 comes from corn fed with fertilizers; 3) land used to grow corn for ethanol produces 3.2% of the energy generated by covering the same amount of land with solar panels. With all respect, what are we doing here?
