Knowledge that doesn’t help you materially transform your life and the lives of those around you for the better is just information. Are you helping learners access knowledge, or giving them information?

Disabled people shouldn’t have to change their behaviour to make non disabled folks more comfortable. We’ve done that for long enough. It gets us nowhere. If disability makes you uncomfortable, you need to own that. Ask yourselves why. Work on internalized ableism.

This is my favorite picture of Stonewall. They knew they were getting arrested just for being LGBTQ+. Yet... they're still here, standing outside of the boarded up Stonewall Inn, smiling as the world was at a fever pitch of hatred against them. I think about it a lot in moments like this.

They can’t force us to spend years preparing for a school shooter while staying silent as they strip away the very protections that make students feel safe. Banning DEI in schools isn’t about safety—it’s about control, and we refuse to let our students be collateral damage.

It’s a play on words that means a few things: JUST as in Justice, justly, just; because teaching that doesn’t involve Justice work ain’t for me. JUST as in “just teach” ELA isn’t what I do. I teach kids to interact with language, and I’m not “just” an English teacher, I’m a language arts teacher.
