it is astonishing to see how many packages are on npm - 5.6 million, according to packages.ecosyste.ms/registries/n.... there were under two million when we did the `everything` package! the ai explosion has really diluted the registry.

i finally figured out how to use github's inbox correctly... 😭 i've been forcing myself on unread only mode so i was always going back to mark things unread to look at them later i feel so silly now

this just feels like github is trying to avoid responsiblity for massive star botting spam by blocking third-party researchers from viewing stars for repositories. also kills projects like www.star-history.com!
