Guy at my local played "Fox on the Run", which was great but it didn't quite compare to the first time i heard it a few months ago, from this sick Japanese bluegrass band (Redbull) doing 5 part harmony on the chorus

thinking about how it's about 1.5km or 20 min walk to the ice rink and I'd walk it more if 1) it wasn't slushy AF and 2) there were actual places to stop in, like a late night cafe or noodle spot. it's alllll houses (along a bus route)

went to see the witch, a play subverting a real jacobean one about a devil who tries to buy a woman's soul, and I have learned I should experience more art where an older woman beguiles a younger man with her knowledge and experience

Some days in 2019, Hong Kong roads looked like this. (Also of note: most of the bricks dug up from pavements were used like this rather than, say, to throw at people.)

I just posted this drawing of a melting ice cube I made for a completely different project. It has a transparent background and you can use it for any flyers or posters you need! The alphabet at the top is also available. Hope it makes somebody's life easier!

I found a second picture after someone accused me of making this with GenAI and I am still reeling from the fact that the piss balcony is an optical illusion and this appears to be a scenic foot trail overpass dividing the restroom with a view of the sunken piss grotto.

One of the most useful things a community organizer ever told me was "if someone wants to play tug of war with you, let go of the rope." The power in any conflict lies not w/ the person who initiates, but w/the person who responds. "Thanks for sharing your perspective, you may be right." And move on

oldhead advice from an oldhead. every couple years, newcomers to the movement think "THIS is finally it, the moment when the dam breaks and the whole system is overthrown" and when it doesn't happen they lose patience and get disillusioned and drop out of movement work gotta build for long term
