#PedalPoll 2026! 243 bikes, I'd say 3/4 eastbound? The pedestrians were about even. Neither bike numbers nor pedestrian numbers are anywhere close to as minimal as the city estimates.

My #PedalPoll observations 🧵 1. Many drivers can barely see over their steering wheel. That's alarming! 2. It's awesome to see sporty cycling groups with a mix of e-bikes and non e-bikes. Lots of foursomes with one e-bike, who without it likely would have stayed home.

Small businesses thrive when people walking by deide to pop in and take a look. If the majority of people are just driving by, they never have a chance to look in the window, see if there are sales signs, or just go in out of curiosity.

Beautiful busy #PedalPoll shift on Yonge! Bike traffic was definitely starting to pick up near the end as the afternoon rush started. And I got counts in every category! One thing is clear: this city should be doing way more for pedestrians. They rule the town!

A bit tardy on my #PedalPoll update & no pic because I counted over 2 days due to a technical hitch. Counted 338 micromobility modes over 2 hours - 211 were people walking, 109 accoustic bikes, 4 e-bikes, 6 cargo bikes, 7 scooters & one e-moto. Contributed to Dilly Dally coffee cafe sales too!

#PedalPoll shift complete! Just as the vibes suggested, there are a LOT of e-bikes and e-motos around here. Last year I counted 142 cyclists at this location, but this year there is major construction and the cycle track is completely closed. Still a respectable number riding bikes!
