Man, I picked a hell of a week to read the Nausicaä manga.

Finished the Nausicaä manga last night. For the unfamiliar, this ran from ‘82-‘94 (with breaks), and is entirely written and drawn by Hayao Miyazaki. It goes greatly beyond the scope of the film. It’s very good! The influence of Dune looms large, but it’s *very* Miyazaki, mostly his darker side.

This week’s car booty, £5 all in. Very chuffed with the Boards of Canada EP! I hear this Soft Cell remaster is surprisingly decent, and with the extras it covers the only era of the group I actually like.

Done and dusted! The EX levels were hardcore even by Klonoa standards, and had a difficulty level utterly at odds with the rest of the game, which was fairly gentle. Three games down on MMS2. After the bleepy tunes and grainy samples of this one, I think I might go for Symphony of the Night next.

My new toy, the MiSTer Multisystem 2, a properly consolised MiSTer. The killer functionality for me is the SNAC cartridges, combined with internal Zaparoo NFC. Lag free original controllers via SNAC with no bare boards or level shifters. NFC lets you boot straight into games, no menus or mapping.

Picked up a remarkably fresh N64 controller for use with my MMS2. Really great stick and generally good nick, but it had some silver paint on the face. Crowdsourced some solutions, and after IPA, Naphtha and Mr Sheen all failed, a Magic Eraser did the job! Now to get an N64 SNAC adapter.
