We need to be able to see that the line "accommodations have gone too far" is an expression of the ableist notion that disabled students do not belong in higher ed. Its fundamentally an anxiety about the fact that disabled students get an "advantage" over abled students.

Missed a call from the DWP. Phoned back. Got a prerecorded message saying that I am not allowed to phone back; if THEY decide they NEED to, THEY will phone ME again. It then hung up. So I phoned the main number. After half an hour, I am told the ESA dept will call shortly. That was… 3.5 hours ago.

So the actual bar being discussed for juryless trials seems to be anything where the sentence is less than 5 years. Anything less than 5 years would not require a jury and could be decided by a judge in a closed room. Worth noting that 3 years is the top number for activists generally...

You can add exemptions to immigration rules for different groups, it doesn't make a blind bit of difference. When you say that migrants are second class and "less than" others, as this government is doing, that feeds through to everyone. Migrants aren't a disposable resource to pick and choose from.
