Our middle school program, led by AmeriCorps member Renee, spent the afternoon painting kites and tasting international snacks from China, Korea, Colombia, and Japan. Hands-on activities like this help students explore global cultures and foster curiosity beyond the classroom.

With determination and guidance, Dzhoana turned small steps into lasting independence. Through our IDA Program, she learned to save and manage her money wisely - and recently achieved her goal of buying a vehicle, a milestone that opens new opportunities for work, family, and stability.

We are proud to share that our 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) grant has been renewed! This federal program provides funding for after-school and summer programs that give students academic support, enrichment activities, and a safe space to learn and grow.

Last month, Ukrainian community leader Mariia organized a meeting with Congressman Hank Johnson’s team to raise awareness about the urgent needs of Ukrainians who arrived in the US under humanitarian parole. The discussion focused on the Ukrainian Adjustment Act, a vital piece of legislation.

It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of the death of Lino Diadi Momo, a long-time member of our Welcoming Services team.  Lino was orphaned and fled conflict in South Sudan in the mid-1980s and was one of about 500 Lost Boys of Sudan resettled in Atlanta in 2001.

July was a month of action and advocacy at New American Pathways! We sent 152 postcards to elected officials, Our CEO spoke at several local events helping to educate our community partners on the issues facing new Americans. And we met our Back to School Drive goal! We're not stopping in August!

Earlier this summer, New American Pathways staff, alongside our partners, CRSA, traveled to D.C. to advocate for a more welcoming US. We met with lawmakers to share the voices and stories of the refugee and immigrant communities we serve.

Save the Date: November 8th Join us for Red, White & Do: A Celebration of Collective Impact! This year, we're reimagining our annual gala to reflect the urgent needs of Georgia’s refugee community. Red, White & Do isn’t just a name change=it’s a call to step up, speak out, and show up.

New American Pathways' Health & Wellbeing program hosts monthly training sessions designed to strengthen safety, confidence, and life skills. This months training was facilitated by our 24/25 AmeriCorps team and provided essential tools to support their financial wellbeing and long-term success.

A huge thank you to Westminster School for their incredible partnership through our School Outreach Program! As part of this program, we had the opportunity to visit the 5th-grade classes to share our work in refugee resettlement.

Urgent Action Needed: A sweeping bill passed by the Senate threatens to cut essential support for refugees and immigrants, including access to SNAP, Medicaid, Medicare, and our vital After School programs. The House could vote as soon as July 2. We need your voice to make a difference!
