So proud of this - TLC is hosting a FREE variety show for alternative pride, and we have BSL interpretation for the show. I'm so delighted that we are able to offer this level of accessibility for the first time ❤️ share with your d/Deaf friends! 🌈

This is also getting on my tatas. We actually have a portable aircon unit. It was of no use when our power went down in the hottest point of the day when our nearest substation LITERALLY CAUGHT FIRE. Second power outage in a week. Individuals cannot buy their way out of an institutional problem.

A real treat if you live in Cambridge and have access to a form of water transport is paddling up to the Backs to watch the May Ball fireworks. St John's fireworks this evening were the best I've seen - I have never seen fireworks with coloured smoke before!

Friends, help a girl out! My nan has quite advanced dementia. She goes bananas for colourful fluid simulator things (like the gif below) where they are activated by swiping on a tablet. I really need a 'pay once, no ads' app that does this because she doesn't understand not touching the ads.

@ampersandish.bsky.social
and I feel it is rude that the train was not on time for *me* (it's stopped offering a departure time and now just says 'delayed')

This week, nan's house enters a new era with a new family. Much of the last 48 hours has been spent grieving for my grandad all over again as I gathered the last of my things from my childhood home. I hope the new family are as happy in that home as I was. ❤️

A little reminder for Andy Burnham. There's no middle ground between people wanting to exist and people who don't want those people to exist. Ironicly, those positions are a binary. You can't exclude trans people from public life in a fair way. You can't do a genocide on us compassionately.

Yesterday a reform canvasser came leafleting. Unfortunately for him I'd just finished washing the dog and had changed into PJs when I came to tell him to keep that filth away from my home. Unfortunately for all of you, he filmed the interaction so I'm sure it's online somewhere.

The lovely
@sararoseg.bsky.social
sent me a beautiful pair of shoes she no longer wears. I immediately: - lined up my nice shoes to look at them - Painted my nails to match - did a lil photoshoot of my mani/new shoes Wondering if a more autistic response to new shoes is possible, or if I've peaked

A lot, a LOT of gesticulating at the radio when we listened to the episode on The Jew of Malta. Even more when we saw that Dido, Queen of Carthage doesn't get an episode.

Been a little bit creatively stuck lately. Had a lovely afternoon printing some lino blocks that I carved a while back and haven't had time to print. It's been lovely to do something creative, and the house smells pleasantly of drying printing ink.

My friends and I have made a little book club, and we are reading (in my case, re-reading)
@patricknessbooks.bsky.social
's The Knife of Never Letting Go. I first read it for an undergraduate class not long after it came out. I was 19, returning to it at 35 has been some intense Section 28 grief.

Those of who who, like me, repeated a lot of your follows from twitter to here, this is what
isasaxonists.bsky.social

About 10 years ago, my grandad gave me his beloved B&O record player, but when we took it out it didn't work. We have tried on and off to find someone who can fix it ever since. Today a lovely man from our local repair cafe brought it home in working order. I am so delighted ❤️

My beloved TLC can only do the things it does because people chip in towards the cost of our events. Anything skills-based we all volunteer to contribute for free, but venue costs are our single biggest expense and I'm helping to cook up some really *lovely* stuff. Chuck us a fiver if you have one?

It’s a surreal moment when you actually see Giant Sequoia in the wild for the first time Your mind is conditioned to nature on TV with music as a background. So when you finally see them close up, you kind of expect a fanfare of trumpets, but the silence is deafening
