I worry about the future for budget consumers -- an ever-increasing market as wealth inequality continues to grow. Sure, I can currently recommend say, an Xbox 360 with dozens of cheap, fantastic games. But used games and hardware are a finite resource, with an increasing market, whether that

-- which we still do not have adequate solutions for in a lot of cases. Nintendo DS demand is through the roof, but the available replacement screens are very hit or miss. Sony products have so many internal, invisible revisions not tied to a model number that some controllers are impossible to fix.

PlayStation shutting down the PS3/PS Vita store in August this year. PlayStation doing away with all physical media on January 2028. What a sad fucking day for people who love physical media and own a PS3/PS Vita. I have no words. 😶

I get that everyone is pissed at video games with good reason, but going back to exclusively retro games isn't the answer. Supporting game devs who do things the right way is the answer. There are plenty, you just need to seek them out.
