I think some of it is specifically civil service culture, though. I remember being on a fast stream training where we roleplayed briefing a minister. The facilitator played the minister as a proper bully. When I pushed back, I was chastised and basically told your job is to be obsequious.

Why are governments so completely spineless when it comes to the social responsibilities of companies? It creates vicious dynamics, all of which come back to then bite those same governments. It’s a losing strategy for democracies fully five minutes after they sign these kinds of deals.

LLMs are genuinely good at rough cut dream analysis in the Jungian/Freudian tradition. I've been using them for a couple of weeks now & I'm impressed. Caveat, LLMs are only as good as you are, and I get a lot out of them here because I've already marinated in Jung/Freud, therapy, & individuation.
