The Baird's Tapir has a mutualistic relationship with the endangered Jicaro danto tree. Found only in the mountains of northern Costa Rica, the fruits of this tree are very tough and only tapirs can bite through them. The tapirs are the primary way the seeds of these trees are dispersed. #tapirs
