I found this birding book along the side of the road on the Tamiami trail in the Everglades on 8/25/25. It is so well loved with sightings going back decades. If you're a birder (I am not) please spread the word and hep me find the owner so they can be reunited

WaderTales at 🔟 I like papers that make me look at waders differently. Neat experiment to understand how shorebirds use microhabitats on beaches, to keep warm/cool.

Now this morning I noticed that all my Oak Eggar caterpillars have shed their skin & moved on to the next instar. Now, I probably should know this but, how many instars are there before pupation? Many thanks.

One of the Convolvulus Hawk Moths is out tonight in the torrential rain feeding away, hardier than I thought they would be!. Here is another video from a drier night showing the hot areas of the moth more accurately, you can see the cold antennae easily!
