Today was the special convention for HD64A (Lucy’s first convention) and after 5 ballots we endorsed Meg Luger-Nikolai for house.

The anti-Somali rhetoric from the mainstream right-wing media paired with the disgusting comments on platforms like X and implicit support from the White House is going to get someone hurt or much worse. Lynch mob mentality. God help us.

Couple dozen people total (FBI, HSI, DEA) on site surrounding Bro-Tex at Hamden and Territorial. “Just executing a search warrant” was the answer given on site.

I reached out to federal delegation to get some answers on this project. It’s a surprise and a very unwelcome one. No home for ICE and CBP in Saint Paul.

Grateful to everyone who’s reached out about me running in the 64A special election. Honestly, it’s just too much to ask of my family (especially with a 6-month-old), my students, and my colleagues. I’m sure our little corner of St. Paul will find a great representative!

The municipal elections are settled and over, and we’re just 70 days away from the start of the legislative session. If you’re a DFLer, right now is the time to stop attacking our DFL House and Senate caucus members. We don’t have time for this crap in a divided legislature.

Tonight we officially launched the DFL Outreach & Inclusion Committee’s Mentorship Program — with an incredible first class of nearly 30 participants! This program is about building relationships, passing on experience, and sharing knowledge across our party and communities.

Thank you for your dedicated service and leadership as Auditor. Minnesota is stronger because of your work, and I am grateful for all you’ve done to bring government closer to the people.

Here are a few of my own personal thoughts on the big news about the Minneapolis DFL today:

Anti-LGBTQ hate groups spent hundreds of millions of dollars to create create panic around the existence of trans people to undermine ALL civil rights protections. Stop doing their work for them.

It is illegal in Minnesota to discriminate against trans people. Period, full stop. That includes in bathrooms. Treating people’s ability to use public spaces as a “social issue” continues to bandy about trans people’s existence as a political issue and it is gross. And dangerous.

Trans rights are human rights, not “social issues.” To insist that trans people must bear the brunt of cis people’s discomfort is not in the same universe as DFL values.
