Been comparing my art to other people's lately. But not in a "aww mine sucks" way, but instead it's a "oh I see my technique is similar to this piece" way and the fact that I can recognize techniques I use in the art I enjoy is really encouraging for me.

I get the point, but for me toxic positivity is when someone refuses to see the reality of a situation they or someone else is in and tries to bandage the issue with platitudes.
