Even some Republicans are finally realizing that the single-minded focus on pushing trans hatred as the GOP agenda isn't working. After spending millions on anti trans ads, Virginia Republicans were wiped out. One is speaking out against the focus on hating trans people over addressing the economy.

The class war also explains the ridiculously conciliatory to outright traitorous behavior of the smattering of trans gentry in the face of these attacks. Their main goal is to reassure the other elites they're not like the rest of us (especially those angry, radical poor transes) to save themselves.

The extremely, ugly public turn against trans rights, especially among prominent liberals and centrists, doesn't fully make sense until one realizes that it's elites attacking overwhelmingly working class demographics to punish us for our defiance and try to crush any hopes for autonomy.

Primary author of that Democratic anti-trans "strategy" is Simon Bazelon, nepobaby son of anti-trans NYT reporter Emily Bazelon. The report quotes McBride, a nepobaby token whose purpose is to excuse transphobia and do private equity's bidding. The attack on trans lives is a gentry conspiracy.

I think a lot about how in just a few months, I went from literally just a random trans person no one knew, to being cited in Wikipedia, the Washington Post, and even the New York Times about RAINN erasing trans people from their website. Go out there and do shit, you have so much power!

Trump's attacks on trans healthcare this year reflect the significant escalation in hatred against queer people in recent years. But the NIH has long denied queer people healthcare. During the AIDS genocides, over 1000 ACT UP members joined the 'Storm the NIH' protest for AIDS healthcare.

The irony behind all of the Democratic blaming of trans people for their losses is the simple fact that we would be in a third Trump term right now, not a second, without trans people pushing Biden over the finish line in 2020.

In 2020, the margin of the three swing states that allowed Biden to defeat Trump was smaller than the number of trans people in each of those states. That doesn't even include the countless cis queer allies and family members voting in favor of trans people. So no, you can't abandon trans people.

It also shows the failure of the "never criticize Dems no matter what" approach taken by the "Gay Inc" part of the non-profit/lobbying sphere. In fact, as the defeat of the trans medicare ban earlier this year shows, anger and organizing works wonders. Enough of that, and no establishment matters.

Of course, for these figures electoral calculus isn't even the point, it's a cover for the anti-trans (and anti-queer) bigotry they now see an opening to indulge in. This isn't an abstract issue. As @davidforbes.bsky.social delved into earlier this year when NC Dems ensured anti-trans laws passed.

Another day, another policy pitch from centrist Democratic consultants wanting to throw trans people (along with pretty much everyone else who's not white cishet gentry) overboard. A reminder that not only is this incredibly evil it also wouldn't work, as @madycast.com laid out last year.

It really sucks Newsom vetoed the HRT and PreP access bills. The stockpile veto is going to hurt. That said, given everything he has been saying this year, signing 8 out of 10 bills is a win for grassroots activists and the legislators filing the bills. It shows your pressure has worked!
