Tragically this is untrue. It is legal in most US states to pay autistic people a subminimum wage. Autistic and other developmentally disabled people are especially vulnerable to exploitation within workplaces (including supported employment and sheltered workshops)

"rest as resistance" is NOT the pop culture meaning and once again it's been misappropriated. the term refers to poor black women who often have to push far beyond what's safe or healthy for their own survival; who often have endless demands on top of chronic illnesses they can't afford to treat.
