Never seen an article or video that does a comprehensive deep dive of the rare cases where nintendo's mostly very successful practice of slapping whatever ip works the best with the game mechanics onto promising prototypes/existing games with ip spesific tweaks didn't quite work

It's wild that they've never been able to recapture the lightning in a bottle that was yoshi's island's art direction. Every attempt to build on it has felt off in some way (woolly world looks great, but that feels more like a rebranded kirby game)

Every time I watch Superfriends, part of me still mourns what we had with Justice League Action and how Cartoon Network utterly dropped the ball with that show and Warner Bros acts like it never existed. That show was essentially what you'd get if you put the DCAU and Superfriends in a blender.
