I love my library but one thing that drives me a bit batty is when a new comic release catches my eye but it turns out it's part of an ongoing series and the earliest volumes are missing.

Found my English language version of Grand Vampire so now I can follow along with the first Spanish language edition at least.

I do sometimes wonder if series like Strikeout Pitch by Kyu Sumiyoshi stray so far from the actual sport that baseball purists become annoyed & lose interest but for someone like me who has no enthusiasm for (or understanding of) the game I love the crazy tangents, wild characters, & insane energy.

I have no idea what paper stock these books use but they look and feel amazing — the colors look luminous and the texture is pleasingly porous.

These Spanish language mini-omnibus hardcovers are interesting: They collect a lot of issues (the Kingdom Come one is just over 1000 pages long) but they're more compact (about 10 x 6.5 inches) so easier to hold and handle than the larger American omnibuses.

I haven't seen the English version of the Green Arrow Longbow Hunters DC Finest yet but I'm guessing the Spanish version with the nicer paper stock does a better job of reproducing some of the non-traditional art (watercolors, colored pencils) from the prestige format limited series.
