Absent Callais, I'd say the ruling today scares some Dems away from trying again; but 2027-2028 will be marked by the Southern states that aren't acting now remapping (plus others like Indiana), so the dynamic on Virginia won't have changed much.

The majority's holding is: "election" doesn't mean what it says in the Virginia Code and how it has always been interpreted, it has a new amorphous meaning we sharked up from every other source we could imagine.

Plagiarism was hard, but now easy. We have a secret group about it. Why give people a choice when you can trick them. Which is now easy. If something is easy it makes it okay. I don't make the rules. Sam Altman does. King of the authors. God of the story tellers. Breaker of creativity chains.

Thing is, this is not an insane ruling as a matter of law. Democrats *absolutely* played fast and loose with the VA constitution's amendment procedure (with good reason; it was designed to require a slow pace for amendments and this is an emergent crisis). The consequences are fucking horrid though.

I keep seeing folks say it's been 12 years, but it hasn't. Gamergate was 12 years ago, but the harassment of Anita Sarkeesian predated Gamergate by over 2 years, the Tropes vs. Women Kickstarter was in March 2012. So it's even more pathetic. IT'S BEEN FOURTEEN YEARS.

No one needs a trillion dollars. That kind of wealth can’t be earned. It’s stolen. Hoarded. Accumulated by keeping others impoverished. It dehumanizes you. Musk could have funded USAID for decades with his pocket change, instead he sentenced poor people to death. Abolish the billionaire class.

Two years have passed, and the exact same problem remains: This website's moderation appears to be managed by someone who is openly hostile to "trans, furry, leftist" users, almost as a matter of public record, and is attempting to silence this information in an aggressive, ban-focused manner.(2)

The T&S lead (publicly) liked that post. Then, a day later, started banning any outwardly trans account posting criticism again, notably giving them four strikes at once on a four-strikes-to-a-ban system. Repetitively showing that the written rules only exist to shut up noisy trans people/allies.

Most recently: Katelyn Burns recently covered this history in an article about Isabel Fall, as Will Stancil was saying that these trans users were harassing and defaming him again, and needed to be 'cleaned off the platform'. Stancil's post was sort of the tipping point for the most recent episode.

Trans users demanding any sort of accountability or equal protection under the rules is billed as a 'harassment campaign'. Roughly once a month Journalists claim defamation, or spotlight some tiny trans account, and get them report-nuked from orbit by 100k followers for not being polite enough.

This pattern of behavior has repeated several times. (Predominantly) Trans and trans-inclusive users demand accountability and appropriateness from T&S, get silence. Some ask other official accounts for responses, get ridicule and derision (Bsky-Waffles, etc.)

Result: The userbase complains that T&S is once again changing the rules just to punish trans users. T&S declines to send an e-mail or post a notification as to why the bot was banned. The bot's coder still has not received a response to this day.

Response: Due to official accounts being really quiet on the issue(1), a trans user writes a bot that tracks things that official accounts post and like. This is public information. This tracker-bot reports that an official account liked a spam bot post with a 'barely legal' porn image.

Result: T&S declines to enforce the rules against Singal. Ends up changing the rules to allow his behavior, instead of enforcing them. Trans community upset at T&S for changing the rules to support a bigot in a place they were told was supposed to be safe. Bsky official accounts remain silent.

Origin: Bluesky's taking off with a large leftist, furry, and/or trans community joining up during the beta invite period. Singal joins the site, and starts being harassing and confrontational towards the trans userbase. Userbase asks Trust & Safety (T&S) to enforce the rules about harassment. 1/13

There's a lot of promising research in agrivoltaics, using solar panels in conjunction with agriculture instead of as this either/or proposition. Solar panels over grazing land, or built tall enough to drive tractors underneath, can have huge benefits.

Much like how Joe Rogan opposes a vast amount of Republican orthodoxy, a “liberal Joe Rogan” would likewise do the same, which I’m sure will go over just fine with a party that is currently trying to fire one of its own leaders for pointing out how Jim Clyburn is 104 years old

What libs mean, actually mean, by “we need a liberal Joe Rogan” is “how much do we have to spend to make Ezra Klein as influential as Joe Rogan, what’s the number for that,” and there is no number but they’re going to light millions of dollars on fire pretending there is
