The main thing I’m taking away from Avatar’s constant success is that the general public is craving blockbusters that excellent in all technical aspect (editing, cinematography, production design, special effects…). I feel like there is a lesson there that some studios could learn.

Wrapping up my first trip to Japan and heading home today. Maybe I got lucky, but people have been extremely nice and accommodating to me during my trip, even when there was a language barrier.

I wish Italian-Japanese food was easier to find in the West. It’s kind of unhinged but it’s so good. A standing advice I’ll have for folks going to Japan will be to try some of the pasta and pizza dishes that are widespread in the country.

The scale of Tokyo is quite incredible. I’ve lived in cities that are fairly sizable (Toronto, Dallas and Seattle), but they all feel small in comparaison.

Having now finished Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (well, the main story, still have extras to complete): it’s the most emotionally I’ve been affected by a game since at least Final Fantasy X. I laughed, I cried. This game will stick with me for a long time.
