Indeed. Banning LE from accessing users' DNA results, and member trees, I think I could accept, but banning LE, including those working on cold cases, anywhere in the world, from accessing *records* is in my view a worrying development.

Ancestry has chosen not to allow uploads of #DNA to its database, which it’s entitled to do. But to change its terms and conditions to prevent cold case researchers accessing its *records* is a very worrying move. #GeneticGenealogy

Limiting access to customer's genetic information is fair enough, but limiting access to public records doesn't really make sense. Gate-keeping such information in this way is also a worrying precedent. #Genealogy

For all of my #genealogy and #ancestryhour peeps - you should know that recently Ancestry has changed its ToS to prevent searching of public records hosted on the Ancestry site to keep investigative genetic genealogy (IGG) practitioners and forensic genealogists (FGs) OUT.
