Together we can diminish the immediate effects of hunger through access to nutritious food, while helping Marylanders build long-term paths to self-sufficiency.

The Dems are going to cave first, right? The bottom line is that Democrats believe in governing and Republicans don’t.

You have to have been terminally online to get this joke, but it’s a good one. Also, briefly we had Twitter and it was good.

Just finished the Martin Scorsese documentary, which is great. But I feel for his daughters from his first two marriages who had an obsessive, driven, coked out, largely absentee father, compared to Francesca, his youngest, who is doted on.

What was the first film where someone points out all the different cafeteria cliques to the new kid? Does it date back to John Hughes films? Was there a scene like that in Clueless? I ask because I caught a bit of Disturbing Behavior last night and Nick Stahl does an expert version of that trope.

So Donald Trump was just awarded a Nixon Architect of Peace award. (Yes, it’s a real award.) Let’s see what other peaceniks have received this incredible honor!

I remember when Trump first got elected and met with Obama in the White House, he looked a bit dazed and I thought, perhaps, the gravity of his new role had hit him. Joke's on me! He's incapable of seeing himself as part of anything larger than himself because to him, nothing is.

I've seen a lot of right wingers say, "Liberals hate Trump so much they can't even thank him for brokering peace in the Middle East." Which, well, he hasn't. But also, why is our approbation so important to them?

My favorite current commercial is for Home Title Lock, where they spell out, quite explicitly, how to commit title fraud, and then tell you you need to buy their product to be protected from said fraud.

It's funny when Trump says that Israel has never been more respected—clearly untrue—because it mirrors when he brags that American has never been more respected.

Last year, CNN ran a “fact check” of Kamala HQ that claimed we were lying for saying Trump’s plan is Project 2025. Now Trump is outright admitting it’s his plan. Legacy media failed the country.

Last night I accidentally watched the last episode of LONG STORY SHORT first and while I liked it, I kept thinking to myself, "Wow, they're really trusting us to figure out the relationships between the characters without a lot of context. You kinda have to admire that." Oops.

And Klein makes the same mistake most politicians make anyway: trying to appeal to some hypothetical centrist voter instead of just plainly stating what he believes.

Very confused about how an Israel/Hamas peace accord works if Hamas has not yet signed off on it. That seems less like an accord and more like terms of a cease-fire.

I have enjoyed Gavin Newsom’s trolling of Trump and he’s good at it, but that dude should not be the Democratic nominee in 2028. Never has a man looked more like a West Coast elite. I (mostly) like his politics and even I admit he has a punchable face.

There is no world in which it is normal for the president to publicly call upon his attorney general to hurry up and prosecute his political foes. It’s like the Watergate tapes but posted on social media. Let’s get a grip on what’s happening here.

Here's an essay I'm thinking of writing: The Republicans will take any 19-year-old rando with a social media account and ascribe their perspective to the entire Democratic party. Meanwhile, the Republicans have actual shitposters running every aspect of government.

Just listened to an episode of The Daily that made my skin crawl. The two oh-so reasonable hosts were credulously talking about shutting down left-wing nonprofits that Vance and Miller claim are fomenting violence. Like this was a reasonable response to Charlie Kirk’s murder. We are so fucked.

I think QUIZ SHOW has been (rightly) championed by cinephiles but they still hold a grudge against ORDINARY PEOPLE because it beat RAGING BULL for Best Picture. An unfair legacy. It’s a remarkable film in its own right with extraordinary performances coaxed by Redford.
