Normalize comment gibbeting (letting a comment sit, unaddressed without a response) as a deterrent to others who might be thinking about posting racist bullshit comments to your posts. You spare yourself drama, and the commenter's words hang in the air for all to see. Maybe take a screenshot too.

Small victory lap today. Officially down just over 24lbs since late February and since I found out I was diabetic, I've been working to get my blood sugar down from 450 almost a month ago to 123 this morning. It's been hard, but rewarding :)

We've been trying in earnest to potty train our daughter Luna for the last year, and as of this week we're at 2 weeks without any accidents! NO MORE DIAPERS! Been having some issues with my vision since i started getting my blood sugar under control. Need to get new glasses, but until I can get to an opthamologist, I opted to get some reading glasses as a stop gap for work, and ho-lee-fuhhhhhck these +2.50 strength glasses are making everything HUGE!

Juneteenth, to me, as a white person, represents the way we are not taught so much of the true history of this country and the world. I never knew what Juneteenth was until I was in my 20s. I saw it on a calendar at work and wondered out loud what it was. A Black coworker told me about it.

For those who say “Illegal is illegal.” On this Juneteenth, remember: slavery was once legal. Harboring a fugitive enslaved person? Illegal. Black freedom? Illegal. “Illegal is illegal” has always been used to defend injustice. Legality ≠ morality. Justice calls us higher.

Odd to say, but prioritizing your conscience and humanity over acceptance is the right move. Once your priorities are in order, the leverage others have on you (gigs/festivals you wont get, tours you won't do, records you wont be on) doesn't matter. A clean conscience is worth it, 7 days a week.
