It's still bizarre that we can't get Novavax in Canada. Cheaper, fewer side effects, at least as effective (if not moreso), provides an alternative for people who are averse to mRNA for any reason

I'm Canadian, starting my fourth year with Long Covid. I crossed the border last year to get the Novavax but this year that is not an option so no vaccine for me. MRNA vaccines are not tolerated by a lot more people than you think. Canada needs to do better.

OK I'm going to try and understand the covid vaccine process in Alberta as I currently understand it. Pharmacies will not be able to give out vaccines, as per the gov't. But pharmacies are currently taking orders for all comers and giving them today. 1/4

Costco in Roseville has Novavax, maybe not an option on Costco website. I was told to walk in (Mon to Fri) so I ended up getting the needle at Kroger in Sterling Heights (on Schoenherr). Pharmacist there said Novavax was pretty popular: “We’re busy with all vaccines, we’re giving 35 to 40 a day.”

Ontario has 800,000 unemployed workers. 800,000 people who are worried about how they are going to make ends meet. If they can stay housed. If they can afford to buy groceries this week. But sure, let’s keep talking about speed cameras, Doug. #OnPoli

Traveling #gluten free to Portugal? It appears that Air Azores / #SATA isn't offering complimentary (incl. special diet) meals on long flights to/from N. America after Oct. 27. The website says complimentary meals are offered but customer service said otherwise when I asked re: gluten-free meals.

Just called #Sanofi (800-981-2491), connected w/ customer service to ask re: availability of Nuvaxovid. I was transferred to the "vaccine department" (the Vaccine Shoppe, distributor of vaccines of several manufacturers). The employee there said that they would be shipping #Novavax in ~3 weeks.

It would be good to have Covid vaccines available now! And for Health Canada to ask #Sanofi why they aren't making #Novavax available in Canada this year for those who can't take Moderna or Pfizer.

I’ve been talking to trackers around the USA. This is the status of Novavax to the best of my understanding: no one has #Novavax in stock yet. Some pharmacies are saying they were told they’d have it late this week. Others say distributor can’t or won’t send it till ACIP meets Sept 18-19 🧵

I know I'm more than a day late on this, but for some reason it came across my feed now — I confirmed with Sanofi today that they haven't yet shipped the Novavax shot, so it isn't available anywhere. They plan to start shipping next week.
