The sun is just setting on a busy but productive day

3 tonne of logs delivered and stacked in the new wood shed. There’s room for. another 3 tonne despite the cement mixer being put in there too.

Went out for lunch at a place Mr A went to last week with his car chums. The maitre d’ recognised him and said: good to see you back and how did the Ferrari’s get on? Mr A had to say it was 20 classic cars not the posh Ferrari group he was with. 😂

Lunch out at the Celtic Ross and an afternoon stroll around the Lagoon. Did the 3.75km loop twice to walk off the lunch

After s few days of constant rain and fog a brief interlude tonight- a beautiful sunset

Today’s lunch was black bean mole and dirty rice. Dont tell Mr A but the rice has soy in it and he thinks it is chicken mince. 🤫

Just booked our Covid and Flu vaccines for the end of the month. Same day as an early start city hospital appt. That will be a fun day.

Last of the swallows are on a feeding frenzy across the paddock in the light rain. Some left back in August these must be the late brood.

Morning. Need to prep for storm season as it seems to be getting earlier each year. Wood shed needs finishing and logs ordering. A few ‘admin’ tasks to do today. Hope your day has a bit more excitement than mine.

Wood shed progress. Working in between heavy downpours. Luckily it is in a sheltered spot away from the gale force winds. As per Mr A has probably over engineered but hey!

The wind is picking up out there. The ground is saturated and the trees in full leaf- not a good combination with gales all night.

Butternut squash and spinach dahl for me today. Mr A is having chicken tikka masala.

A day of heavy rain today with the winds picking up tonight. We officially have saturated ground and a risk of potato blight. Indoor chores today I think. Have a good day especially if you have sunshine.

How much has it cost to police this fiasco in London? Many officers will have had rest days cancelled, many bussed in as part of mutual aid response early this morning. No doubt those on football duty will have to go straight to the demonstration or on standby.

Homemade beetroot (homegrown) hummus for lunch. Mr A has declined. All the more for me.

3 hours of admin and another hour to do. I am out of the habit of sitting at a desk and my mind is thinking of all the tasks I’d rather be doing. Cleaning bathrooms is suddenly appealing.

Had a trip up the mountain road earlier. Bright sunshine gave way to moody skies and downpours.

Slightly diminish a book Pride and Bias

Had a fab 5 days with my mate here but it flew by far too quickly. Haven’t laughed so much in a long time. She is winging her way home and facing a tube strike. The house is strangely quiet. (Mr A is out)

Morning. Invited a few friends over last night to meet D who is staying. Lots of cheese and wine consumed. Had an extra overnight guest who couldn’t drive home. I think we were all a tad squiffy. Wee bit fragile this morning.

Cant remember when I had an evening where I laughed so much. I think D being here is a good tonic

Middle of the day airport run to pick up my friend. Mr A may be spending time in the workshop and only appearing for meals for the next few days.

S7 of SWAT E2- someone has been working out. Not complaining but Mr A isn’t happy with the comments Im making. 😂

Mr A is watching something on YouTube with his head phones on-that’s the rule but I can hear every word Mat Armstrong says. Mr A keeps turning up the volume. He hasn’t plugged his headphones in and he’s not worked it out yet.

MG update. Mr A has found the fault- head gasket. No sign in radiator etc- only just gone. No damage to the head. This was new less than 3k miles ago. Guy in the classic car group here has one and we will order him a new one but not from MG Hive this time

Time to start fermenting garlic in honey as an autumn/winter preventative and cold/flu treatment. Dont forget to ‘burp’ the jar daily.

It is a ‘big rain’ day and I don’t like being indoors all day. Ive domestics to do before a friend arrives on Weds but Im not feeling it. Definitely a xtrainer day to burn some energy.

MG update. Our compression test kit was returned yesterday and just carried out compression test on 3 & 4. Head gasket has gone that was new in 2021 rebuild. Radiator changed few months back no sign then so it has literally just happened.😢

Yesterday it was just The Mini and now it is Letterboxed and Tiles. Mr A and I did Connections in 1min 23 this morning. Not really a brain workout. Not happy.

When you had quite a bit of homegrown beetroot lunchtime and forgot when you went for a wee. Yeah that!
