“Will break rules to defeat Nazis” is a non-extremist position and “will not defeat Nazis if the rules say you can’t” is an extremist position. Everyone please learn the difference between “extreme” and “extremist” because it will be on the final exam.

I live in a neighborhood with lots of bars, and the grocery store closes their parking lot after they close. The amount of whining about it on social media is wild. So many people who can’t walk here feel entitled to drive themselves home FROM THE BARS.

My college graduation was 21 years ago next month, and I guess I'm just grateful I was done with school long before I might have had to endure some goddamn AI bullshit in my commencement speech.

if i was going to give a college commencement speech i would make sure to start with something the students could rally behind. something like "we will mechanically suck the youth from your bones to feed a mechanical eschaton, which my generation will use to climb heaven and become new gods"

It's especially wild since the guy most obsessed with making rocketships right now is a death trap-building conman who wants to ship peons off on a one-way trip to an arid, lifeless planet. You should DEFINITELY ask questions about the rocketship, well beyond the issues of seating

Podcaster posting about enjoying a nest of bunnies in his yard means ample opportunities to block the kind of people who feel compelled to reply about foxes and dogs finding them.

My favorite one of these to think about is Sunset Boulevard. If you updated it, Norma Desmond would've been born c. 1975, with her popularity peaking in the late nineties, maybe Y2K.

This is so interesting, and honestly it might be *why* I like Bluesky. I'm not a video person! Basically unless it's some weird YouTube short or Instagram reel my cool friend Mike found & sent me directly, I'm unlikely to watch a video.

McConnell denied Garland a vote nine months out under the guise that there was an election soon and then jammed through Coney Barrett a week before Biden won. They have been flipping the bird to the concepts of norms and fairness for decades and the democrats have done jack shit to fight back.

I discovered a similar marginal flipbook animation in my dad's high school copy of The Mayor of Casterbridge, but instead of karate it was, if I recall correctly, an airplane exploding.

When I was in 8th or 9th grade, a couple friends & I got to help direct/manage a Winnie the Pooh play for 6th graders. We let ourselves get talked into adding two characters, Beaver and Nuthead. I wrote extra dialogue for them.

Would Dane Cook be considered influential, as an actor or as a comedian? Especially relative to his apparent fame? I don't know why I'm still thinking about this

Donovan is 80 today. For more than half his life I have been mocked for loving Donovan, even moreso for thinking him important. You can mock me, but you can't mock Donovan, he has placed himself beyond mockery. If you don't love Donovan, you can't ride on my ferris wheel.

Here's a really fun place to start. We had Mr. Tim Onion himself on to talk not only about The Onion's takeover of InfoWars but also his own thoughts as a former extremism reporter who watched the Alex Joneses of the world flourish and how we can fight back.

this is so representative of the holier than thou attitude that infects so many democrats. if the other guy is telling comforting lies you dont just lie back and whine that youre telling "unpleasant truths." you make the truth as entertaining as the fucking lie. you fight.
