There is no "actually to remove Trump from office the solution is not to talk about Trump being removed from office." That is not a thing. You want to remove him you push to remove him. Same for Abolishing ICE, passing universal health care, whatever. Push for the thing and don't censor yourself.

I never quite understand why some people think that doomerism is some demonstration of their lefty bona fides rather than just an expression of nihilism, an excuse for political inaction, or ignorance of how politics works.

There's a certain kind of person who can't imagine a space of contestation between "full democracy" and "full dictatorship," and who as a result imagines that anyone denying that we're in a full dictatorship is claiming that we're in a full democracy. This is a failure of imagination.

If you believe that there will be election interference, vote suppression, and other malfeasance in some jurisdictions, say that. If you believe that such malfeasance could tip control of Congress, say that. Because saying "there's not going to be elections" ISN'T saying that.

the way to tell whether a person is credible is by *listening to what they say* and checking it against verifiable facts. The idea that you can bypass this with some value-neutral procedure is asinine if you think about it for two seconds and also the guiding ideology of 99% of American elites.
