I said this in replies elsewhere, but I want to say it loudly here. Anything other than a fullthroated affirmation of birthright citizenship in this country by SCOTUS is an act of treason. It is grounds for immediate impeachment. It is a violation of every oath they have made.

I'm sure they have data that says there are higher completion rates at 8 eps than 10 or 13, but they completely fail to factor in how longer seasons give us more chances to bond with these characters and stick with them long term. 10 should be the minimum, but 13-15 is even better

Exactly. Some things feel rushed when it’s 8 eps. I felt the same way about Shadow & Bone which I loved. We have such excellent showrunners and writers trying to break these big stories and it’s impossible to do it to the best possible outcome with only 8 episodes.

Seeing Joseph Fink in the comments reminded me that WELCOME TO NIGHT VALE expanded the possibilities for scripted podcasts, although that does require blurring genre and medium a bit. its difficult enough to describe that I think it’s gotta count: Cheerful NPR parody sci-fi eldritch horror comedy?
