The website in question (101soundboards) is a slur-filled cesspit of a website, with hundreds and hundreds of streamers clips that appear to be scraped off of twitch and used to create soundboards as well as AI TTS generators. It is worth checking to see if you've been affected. (2/7)

Well! Thanks to the diligence of a friend, I was made aware today that my voice is being used for a truly terrible AI TTS voice generator. In fact, a lot of streamers seem to be affected by this. As of now, I have a takedown request pending, and hope this will be resolved soon. 🧵 (1/7)

Not to mention, that lots of people with aphantasia, rely on refences and 3D models, because they literally can't visualize mental images. Not every artist has a photographic memory and hyperphantasia.

I just feel this rule too opinion based and opens the door for many different claims on what is art: If you shade with purple or use overlays, that's not real art because you didn't learn color theory. If you use a texture layer, that's not real art because you didn't create the texture. Etc.

SPECIFICALLY - Tracing photography, 3D References, Etc... This is NOT an endorsement of EVER tracing over someone else's work.

Rotoscoping has been used traditionally in animation for decades, so to say tracing not an essential tool nullifies all works created using this process. While it IS important to learn the fundamentals and utilize references, tracing has and is a part of the work flow for many professionals.

SECONDED Not every artist is capable of creating work that fast without a guide. All this does is encourage less submissions, less revenges and is just gonna lead to a worse overall experience. I’ve taken a photo of my own hand to use? Guess my attack is totally invalid now. Moronic rule.

The idea of banning bases, picrew and other such secondary sources from being used in attacks makes sense, but restricting the use of an artist’s own method for streamlining their creative process is completely asinine to me and likely many others. I personally don’t see the harm. (3/)

The fact that you think it’s a good idea to ban an essential part of many users’ creative process is entirely unfair and perpetuates the idea that using one’s own photography or poses = cheating, which is not only inaccurate, but a toxic standard for artists upheld by elitists. (2/)

I myself use Design Doll as a guidence, because sometimes I can't get things right just by relying on my imagination or I'm simply too lazy lol This is the default model btw So, to draw a picture of a tall, muscular woman shooting a bow, you still need to have a good understanding of anatomy

When drawing from these models, you'll still need to adjust the anatomy, because if you traced them 1:1, it would simply look bad. I'm also curious how they would want to check whether someone used a 3D model or relied on THEIR OWN base lol
