The lack of casual viewers and fans is killing the scene. In infinite boredom, the players eat themselves and TOs alive, and TOs have literally zero reason to put up with constant harassment from players when there is basically no emotional benefit to putting together events.

Ever since getting involved with competitive splatoon, I’ve had a ton of anxiety about its future. It’s a game that is no longer receiving updates, plagued with infrastructural issues and low player base. Most importantly, the people who make it possible are all volunteers. Every time I go to watch🧵

Genuine question to TO's and people who work deep in the orgs. How can we best show gratitude and appreciation for things you do? I want to know what we as a community can do to alleviate burnout to TOs. #compsplatoon

Can we normalize thanking TOs and everyone running a tournament? After you finish playing in a tournament, you should be thanking the people that took time out of their lives and organized a tourney for you. I want to see discord chats and bluesky threads flooded with "thank you TOs" #compsplatoon

TOs and staff deserve the upmost respect. They put in so much of their free time for a scene that is incredibly unappreciative. I try, when I can, to thank TOs for their effort both online and on LAN. They don’t get it enough. Listen and I mean really LISTEN to TOs today and always.

Please take the time today to listen to the TO's and other community leaders who are speaking about their experiences today, there have been many times their voices do not get the attention and respect they deserve and we have lost too many people good people already, I'd like to not lose more.
