This is a really cool format I’ve never seen before. Seems like you need exactly 16 or 32 teams for it to work though? No more or less, and drops during Swiss probably messes a lot up. Still, for 16 team invitationals I would love to see this kind of format.

Shoutout to Sendou for making this format a reality and helping enable CCA to run the entire Circuit on sendou.ink. It's a great format because the conditions to advance are clear cut! Such a fun SuperJump to watch. Not nearly as explosive as the upsets in SJ 5 but so many fan favorites made podium with changes to their comps that it was such a treat #compsplatoon

I think one thing that's been great about the commentary from the NAL is the the commentators are using the full in game names of weapons and specials which makes it very approachable for people who may not know the game as well or are new to comp, and honestly its just makes the commentating crisp

It's always good to see more formats being experimented with in other parts of esports and competition as a whole. This community can be more than just DE smash copy-cat tournaments. Thank you sendou for your work

This format is quite popular in some other games but underutilized in Splatoon still. Why I think it has potential is that for teams it's always completely predictable if they advance or not and nobody is playing games that don't matter as you get eliminated when you can no longer reach the top cut.

Today's update adds (experimental) support for "early elimination" Swiss. How it is different from normal Swiss is that the organizer sets a qualification criteria e.g. 3 wins. Any team who reaches that advances. It is a variation that provides exciting competition in qualifier phase. #sendouink
