Walking the 700km Beara Breifne Way: ‘I wanted to test myself, test my body’
By walking through Ireland, I carved a line of connection in time, not only to history, to the Gaelic Irish, but also, back to myself

The distance between what is in happening Gaza, fully backed with US dollars and political support, and the reaction of American politicians who by and large just don’t seem to care or support it is just completely brain-breaking.

Amidst shameful media neglect of genocide in
#Gaza
, there has been a consistent exception: the UK’s Channel 4 News. Today’s report on the daily killings by Israelis of the starving queuing for food aid. Wait for the UN assessment at the end. This is a difficult but essential watch. Pls share.

Did you know that before the 19th amendment one of the reasons given for why women shouldn’t be allowed to vote was: “the mental exertion of voting would cause infertility in women.” This was clearly an idea coming from people who didn’t understand the mental exertion of organizing a household.

Monthly reminder: Many people have a book in them, but it takes a special kind of freak to leave the Land of Laziness, cross the Plains of Procrastination and Insecurity Mountain, find the Blade of No One Made You Do This, and use it to cut your chest open and yank that book out.

Rom-coms focus too much on budding writers, journalists, and hard-nosed professionals who fall for an aloof, obnoxious man with a secret heart of gold, and not enough on the love lives of Irish women trying to seduce a local Junior B player in the cold outside Supermacs at 3am
