I will never understand why there exists any analysis that allows for any daylight between America and Israel. They are one and the same. Where their interests diverge, it is only ever in degree — and increasingly small increments, at that. Israel is our garrison in the region, and our scapegoat.

I’m not sure there ever was a ceasefire agreement tbh. Israel never stopped bombing Lebanon. A ceasefire is only a ceasefire if all sides cease their firing.

Before I became an American, I was Lebanese. Parts of my family live in Lebanon. Anyway, you don't need those bona fides to feel this way, but what is happening in Lebanon right now is a complete outrage. The people there, who mostly are just trying to carve out a living, don't deserve this.
