So my New Year’s resolution is to spend my evenings reading for an hour. Usually the hour before bed. Thought I’d also document what I’m reading. A Thread.

You can switch to Tidal, it takes less than ten minutes and you switch incredibly easy. Honestly I should have done it years ago.

Playing Dispatch and I’m obsessed. Can’t believe I’ve only got 3 episodes left. I don’t ever want this game to end.

1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics. It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT. It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse. Transgender care saves lives.

You can't set a limit on who writes what. But you can remind folks that the real world oppression and exclusion of LGBTQ+ folks is ongoing, so supporting queer authors is likely far more helpful at ground level than focusing on books that feature one MM kiss written by a straight guy. Hey yall not what I wanted to do on my birthday but let it be clear "Death of the artist" is all well & good but you cannot Seperate the art from the artist when the artist is still alive, a terf & every penny they recieve reinforces their beliefs & is used to actively harm Trans folks! Let it Go!

The only truly irreversible thing a trans child is likely to do is take their own life. "What if they do something irreversible?" actually means "theyre not allowed to make a decision!" You cant undo or reverse any decision you make, you can simply change your mind later and handle the consequences

If you're an author being published by small and tiny presses, please shamelessly promote your work, however much your temperament might militate against it. I've seen many wonderful authors at this level so quickly forgotten when they die, you deserve all the readers you can get while you're alive.

I’ve got to ask, men of the world, how the hell do you cope with the fact there’s usually like one cubicle in pubs? Men’s toilets have been a relatively new thing for me in the last two years but every time I am honestly floored by the lack of cubicles (or even if there’s in order) we deserve better

The “Pathways” trial is, IMO on more than one level, a thoroughly unethical piece of “research” to be carrying out on children, especially children who are part of a marginalised minority.

I think one of the hardest things about being a career writer in traditional publishing is that writing attracts the neurodivergent brain while the variable reinforcement schedule punishes it. We are all the rat at the water bottle, waiting for the hit of cocaine. You get one win, and you need MORE.

On this Transgender Day of Remembrance, we honor the trans people lost to violence in the U.S. this year. Widespread poverty, homelessness, and discrimination makes trans people 4x more likely to experience violence than the average person. We shouldn’t have to live in fear to be who we are.

Today is International Men’s Day. So here’s to refugee men fleeing abuse, trans men denied healthcare, queer men bullied for being different, Black men racially profiled, disabled men excluded from work, and all the other men who fail at being “real men.” May we continue to cultivate our humanity.

A cycling influencer nominated for a list of top 100 women cyclists said she has declined the honour due to the decision not to include trans women. Claire Sharpe, a cycling coach from Bristol, said: "If they don't want to ride with all women, then it's not the kind of ride I want to be part of" 👏🏻

Unfortunately we weren’t able to raise the amount we need to make season two of Holmwood. We’ve seen it coming for a few weeks now, but it’s still a huge blow. However, making season one was an utterly amazing experience, and I wouldn’t change it for the world ❤️❤️
