Okay I gotta say something. I can no longer stay silent. Simplicity by @mattielubchansky.com was a great read! The art style was fun, the story was delightfully weird and sweet, and the message was very heartfelt. I only wish it had lasted me a little longer.

The worst part about the news about the national guard being deployed to DC is that I was raised evangelical Christian and surrounded by folks who loudly declared they would fight back against tyranny and a government who used force against its own people. Those people are absolutely silent rn.

In 2021 I was deep in a depression telling my therapist I felt like American society was collapsing but that it was probably all my childhood trauma. I think about that a lot these days.

I find it strangely comforting to see so many alumni show up for tonight’s #HomescholChat who were homeschooled K-12 in a religious fundamentalist Christian subculture. Being homeschooled was an isolating experience, but so is being an adult who was homeschooled.

Your stories and art are worth telling and sharing. They don’t have to be groundbreaking or revolutionary. They just need to be YOURS.
