As HSLDA believes that children must belong to their parents in a legal sense, children are to have no fundamental rights — and fundamental rights for children are seen as a monumental threat.

We must wrestle with the biblical texts, questioning and challenging them when they ignore the children they contain or justify violence against the children barely visible at their margins.

As I research similarities between evangelical parenting teachings and Nazi parenting teachings, I have noticed authoritarians find crying to be a threat—a form of defiance rather than honest feedback about something important.

I ❤️ SNAP. I have been on SNAP. It kept me from going hungry many times when I had mental health crises. SNAP saves lives. SNAP helps kids. Let people eat. Don't be a whitewashed tomb about it.
