ill be charitable and say klein is *almost* right, and ill explain. its not about going into "hostile spaces" and most people simply arent very good at proselytizing.what needs to happen is us viewing civility and politeness in a more mature way and stand firm for positive values in "neutral" spaces

There’s also, as Perry points out, the “we” problem. I’m a journalist, not a politician. I plan to continue pointing out that the entire conservative movement is obsessed with phantom problems and conspiracy theories. I think this is an extremely salient fact that voters should know.

Is that effective campaign messaging? I don’t know & I don’t care. It’s true. It’s my job to discover and say things that are true. The radicalization of the American right is *the* political story of my lifetime and the public should know about it. Politicians can do what they like with that.
