One of the hardest things to learn is that communication, confrontation, conflict and aggression are DIFFERENT And people aren’t “avoidant” just because they don’t want to deal with attacks AND just because you have a good Pr package and a soft voice doesn’t make you NOT the abuser or enabler

You've probably seen the word #Landback somewhere and instantly had some feelings. It sounds blunt, which is part of why a lot of people tend to have an instant reaction or jump to some very problematic misconceptions about what it means. So, let's talk Landback, from my POV and work.

i think it's critical to understand that taiwan is not baby china and is not a freer or more democratic version of china. taiwan is its complicated, multiply colonized, justice-seeking self. it is not interchangeable with china, which is itself an incredibly diverse place.

“I take care of my disabled loved one & they don't ask me to mask” Well yes, 1) you, the more abled person, have more power in that relationship, 2) they need you & know that your whims determine their care, 3) If they did ask you to mask, would you treat them the same?

I live in CA where all registered voters get a mail in ballot; I stopped using USPS to post my ballot during the first trmp term. I vote early, and take it directly to the election office. Not even the ballot drop boxes, I hand it over to someone in the election office. Paranoid you say?
