Inktober sets completely unrealistic expectations regarding output. Making a complete inked drawing in one day EVERY day for a month is insane and a recipe for burnout. Don’t tie your worth to something that even professionals believe is unrealistic.

It’s a lack of education and Its never intended to upset me, I know this. Pet shops have the most to answer for TBH, they are selling these horrendous tiny cages and hamsters in pairs and pushing the animals like they’re toys to sell. If you want a hamster and have questions I’m happy to answer

So often folks will send me hamster videos and I’ll have to be like ‘oh thank you for the thought but those hamsters are all piled into a tiny cage, and the one back flipping is clearly very unwell or stressed, and I’m pretty sure that’s animal abuse, but sorry to be a buzz kill’ and it’s awkward
