IX is always amazing. It’s a place where we artists talk shop, recharge, make friends, and have fun. If you love art and the artists who make it you are welcome to join us! Here are some pics from my week and ends with the ferrets happy and rested up after the trip. I already miss you all.

A very fun event at IX this year was the Magic Artist SketchFest on Sunday morning! Everyone seemed to be working in different mediums, I chose graphite. These are the two pieces I made there and both are sold. I went into it without a clue what I’d create but I think they turned out cool!

I can say with certainty that the fire alarm in the Doubletree in Reading is the most loud and horrific thing to be yanked out of REM sleep by. This was at 2:43 Am on Sunday.

We had a drought for so long in Pennsylvania our autumn is a little drab this year. Our trees are usually so gorgeous.

Hard to believe today we leave for IX! I’ll be in Main Show on the first floor with lots of original paintings and more!

Thumbnail sketches are the earliest part of the illustration process. I like to push an idea as far as I can before investing time in finely rendered drawings or the final painting. As you can see I came up with a lot of composition ideas for Strength of Will!

What a nice surprise! My art for Strength of Will came out today! It was so great to get to do another piece that takes place in Bloomburrow. Soon the original painting (oil and gold leaf) and preliminary drawings will be available! Stay tuned!

I’m so thankful to have met so many nice people, signed some cards, gave an interview, and even a visit from a wonderful David Bowie cosplay! We are back home safely from Gen Con! The ferrets are super excited to be home. I’ll share some pics soon but oof I’m tired and very definitely sick. *sigh* it was kind of inevitable with 80k attendees and a sold out show.

My new Otterball playmats were special delivered to me by Ultra Pro yesterday so I have them at Gen Con along with my new Basilisk Collar Dog and Ruthless Negotiation! They look great!
