As all this disgusting Epstein shit starts surfacing more and more, I hope we don't lose sight of the fact that apparently every major media outlet knew everything and instead spent their time money and energy attacking the trans community.

You see more trans women in online spaces specifically because we have been forced out of every other venue. We have to build our own networks online where the tools to build a platform are slightly more accessible than the ones held by traditional media gatekeepers.

It's so fucked that people view trans people being murdered as just a 'fact of life'. The sun sets in the east. And trans people get stabbed to death. Should we make a society where people don't murder trans people? Nay, let's just get rid of trans people instead.

I really don't understand why we still entertain debate with conservatives. There are TONS of countries globally that have enacted socially progressive policies and laws that they claim will be the downfall of civilization and it hasn't caused problems a single time.

The common one-dimensional portrayal of women as harmless victims reinforces outdated gender stereotypes. This keeps us from seeing women as complex human beings, able to wield power, even in misguided or violent ways.

The next time a woman's assault by a hate-filled man manages to get widespread coverage in the press, and the story sets out all the warning signs that were ignored, the free speech warriors can pat themselves on the back saying "We did that so that Graham Linehan could abuse trans kids on Twitter."

I really wish we could live in a world where we wouldn't have to argue that XYZ wasn't a choice ergo people who have said trait deserve rights. People should have the right to make that kind of choice and to have that choice respected. I genuinely cannot fathom how that's controversial.

One of my favourite things about transitioning is how much more emotionally available I am. Before I could only really talk to people if there was a point. Otherwise I didn't have the capacity. Now it's like I just call my friends to check in and hear about their day. It's the best.

If EVERYTHING you think you know about trans people has been learnt from social and mainstream media over the past 10 years, and not an actual trans person, it's probably 80% garbage. Talk to a real trans person. Read a book published before 2015. We are anything but new, and We. Are. Going. Nowhere

Excellent article which uses the Cass review as an example of how the term "evidence-based practices" can be easily weaponized into policy defining outcomes while essentially not providing with evidence to support those policies.

A lot of our political discourse boils down to "I have the RIGHT to say that I don't believe you are a person, and if me saying so results in you suffering the harms of non-personhood, that's not my fault, and if you try to stop me from dehumanizing you, you are discriminating against me."

Why are we not seeing articles like "4/5 patients who receive chemotherapy recover from [specific type of cancer] but the fact that 20% don't should give doctors pause about administering chemotherapy"? It really gives away the ruse that this is the only kind of healthcare discussed like this.
