I am honestly positively surprised with reviewer portal of Springer Nature's Scientific Reports. 1st they didn't force me to provide a million details for the privilege to volunteer my (unpaid) time. 2nd everything else was also pretty stream-lined including what criteria had to be judged. 👍

After a week of use I am pretty happy with it. There were some issues where I had re-configure things because my home folder wasn't visible anymore and it doesn't seem to work when I am connected to my university's VPN but I am able to have multiple .docx files open and work on them. 👍

Today, I've spend several hours editing a .docx using this set-up & I honestly don't have much to complain about. There is a bit of jank (yes) but even running MS Word plus Zotero to cite stuff works. The main jank is when resizing windows or trying to change Zotero's settings other than that 👌

My mind is blown! Thanks to @ozvardal.bsky.social, I can now run MS Word from the comfortable of my #linux operation system. Check out: github.com/xiagw/winapps It worked for me but I have to warn you. It's an involved process where you have to carefully follow the instructions.
