Rewatched Catch Me If You Can for the first time in forever. Was delighted in how much I enjoyed it and realizing it kinda qualifies as a Christmas movie. The perfect way to unintentionally kick off the season.

First of all, starting Star Trek over from scratch is the right move. Regardless of your thoughts on the J.J Abrams reboot, that was 16 years ago. A new cast makes sense. The question is do they do the obvious TOS crew or is there a remote possibility of TNG?

One Battle After Another is terrific. An acutely timely modern epic. Expertly made. Exquisitely shot. (The final car chase is a wonderfully crafted piece of cinema). Great performances across the board. Chase Infiniti is a discovery. Sean Penn as Lockjaw is unforgettable. Stellar stuff.
