I loved these mini storybooks as a kid and was quite disappointed when the cartoon didn’t line up narratively with them even when I was 6yo. And look at this art. It’s amazing. And I know this awakened things in kids who read these books. Toys should still come with storybooks or comics like this.

#LastFourWatched My wife and I have started a project going through all the classic Disney animated films and watching the shitty live action one after it if there is one. This past week we watched both Pinocchios. Also, Game Night was a surprise how funny it was!

Due to the geographic distance, I won’t be able to go to the funeral for @williambwest.bsky.social, but I plan to wear Power Rangers colors on Saturday in honor of him.

When my kids were young, we had no money, so we enrolled them in very little. Some of our peers clearly judged us as they ran their kids around everywhere. Different strokes and all that, but I think we fostered better relationships with our kids than we would have if they had done a ton of things.

My hot take is that Alien 3: Assembly Cut is actually a decent entry in the franchise. I still don’t love all the initial choices, but I can appreciate the execution a lot more in this version. And Ripley is just a tragic character. This version of the third act of her story packs a punch.

Apparently today marks the 90th anniversary of the original Flash Gordon serial. A few years ago, I was so excited for the Boss Fight Flash Gordon action figure that mimicked the style of the Super Powers action figure line, that a friend and I made mini-comics distributed by @afinsider.bsky.social.
