Right now the world is full of people who want to code and write and paint and film stuff and people who want to play and read and look at and watch stuff and nobody is allowed to do any of that because some unrelated third guy isn't making enough money off the deal

I really wish the entire Comics community in social media wouldn't overreact so much to a few randos not liking something and making it the Discourse™️ for the full week. Every time. We *can* just shrug off nonsense, y'know

As a science fiction writer I really fucking resent tech bros for ruining the phrase "artificial intelligence." 80 years of it being all about cool androids and interesting computers destroyed by five years of "Spicy autocorrect making everything shittier for money." NEVER FORGIVE.

Y'know, unlike Jorge, this one actually wasn't a shock, because of course the guy that came up with that 'youthification' monstrosity would look at AI and think that seems neat ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Most of the hype goes to Batman (well, it usually does) but for me this and WW are the shining best of the Absolute line, to the point I prefer them to their main counterparts

I'm tired of the toxic positivity of, "Just make comics! No excuses!" There are plenty of valid excuses, and it doesn't make you any less of a comic creator for having to take a break or figure things out.

Adding to this: frequently "bad" hand lettering will look better on your art than slicker computer lettering! If the lettering is of a piece with the art, it will look better than a neater, cleaner computer font laid on top of the art.

David Burke, my favorite Watson, has passed away, a few days shy of his 92nd birthday. He and Brett were too old to do STUDY IN SCARLET, but about a decade and a half ago, when I was more involved with the Shelockians, I drew younger versions of them for a nonexistent age-appropriate 1963 version

I had a major project canceled yesterday—which, it’s comics; wiser men than I have warned us about them breaking our hearts—so I’d really love a chance to keep my name out there. If you’re looking for a writer or editor, I’m super available.

I launched an indie webcomic hosting platform several months ago that offered a free and a $4/mo paid plan. This was purely to cover the cost of the infrastructure. But in seeing it grow, I'm no longer worried about the cost. So yeah Webcomic Studio is now free.
